In the Premier Division the match between Cramlington Casuals and Prudhoe United Services A was much closer than the 7-3 score-line suggests. The Casuals came out on top thanks to three wins from James Bradbury, two from Iain Wood and one from Gareth Pearson. Old England Jacks continued their good start to the season with an 8-2 win over a strong Mount A team. Steve Penman was player of the match with three wins and was backed up by Neil Herrington and Jake Helm who both won two games each with many of the games going to five ends. In the game between Newcastle University and St Chads Josh Weatherby was in great form winning all three games without dropping an end, helping St Chads to a 7-3 win. The pick of the matches were the University’s Jeremy Hamshaw two wins over Keith Weatherby and Paul Baines both of which went to five ends. NECA A secured a 6-4 win over Tyneside A with NECA’s Lee Tinkler proving too strong for their opponents winning his three games. The Tyneside points came from Mark Kimberley and Steve Dickinson who both won two games each.

In Division 1 Mount B were too strong for Cramlington Tigers with a 10-0 win coming from three wins each for Dean Eadington, Lee Eadington and Will McCallum. Ouston A had a good 7-3 win away at a strong Old England Nomads team. Kevin Richardson was player of the match for Ouston winning his three games, supported by Jon Mawson with two wins and Tom Fowle with one win. Cramlington Falcons beat an experienced NECA B team 6-4. The Falcons playing in Division 1 for the first time secured the win thanks to three wins from Oliver Ho and two wins from Anthony Doyle, with the pair combing to win the doubles. For NECA Jamie Collins won two games with Kit Robinson and Ken Lee adding one win each. In another game which was closer than the score suggested Mount C beat Prudhoe United Services 7-3. Alan Livingstone was player of the match for Mount with three wins, supported by William Edwards with two wins and Karen Henry with one win.

In Division 2 early pacesetters Brandon Bravehearts had a convincing 9-1 win over Mount D with Jamie Westwater and Paul Dale both winning their three games. Mount’s only point came from a Jon Evans win over David Brown. In the all Ouston match the Ouston B team of Duncan Hindmarsh, Michael Lyons and Jamie Milroy proving too strong for Ouston C with a 10-0 win. The match between Cramlington Swifts and Cramlington Spartans ended in an 8-2 win for the Swifts. Richard Williamson was player of the match for the Swifts with three wins backed up by Philip Teah-Smith and James Ainsley who both won two games. Only the Spartans’ Sam Nair was able to secure wins for his team with victories in two close five end games over Teah-Smith and Ainsley. The match between Stocksfield B and Tyneside B ended in a 5-5 draw. Despite Tyneside only having two players Chas Roberston and James Moore won two games each and combined to win the doubles to secure the draw.

In Division 3 there was a convincing 9-1 win for the experienced Stocksfield C team over a young Cramington Dynamos team. The match looked to be heading for a 10-0 win thanks to three wins from Mark Perrin and Richard Rayfield but in the final game of the night Cramlington’s Daniel Gazerani-Lopez beat David Crompton in a close five end game where he battled back from being 2-1 down. In the match between Cramlington Dragons and Cramlington Magpies the Dragons won 6-4 thanks to three wins from player of the match Pauline Long, supported by Adrian Barnes with two wins and Mark Gee with one win. The Magpies points came from two wins from Hadi Mohamed and one from Sara Haddi with the pair combining to win the doubles. The Saints extended their lead at the top of the division with a 7-3 win over Cramlington Cobras. John Cook was player of the match for the Saints with three wins. Cramlington Joe Hastings had two good wins over Vince Killen and Ken Greatbatch.
