In the Premier Division Mount A moved up into second place with a straightforward 10-0 win over Tyneside A with Dan Dodds, Jimmy Scope and Ant Ainley proving too strong for their opponents. Despite Prudhoe United Services A only being able to field two players they still came away from the match at Newcastle University with a 6-4 win, Mark O’Connor was the player of the match winning three games with Andrew Firth winning two games only losing to Charlotte Weatherby.
In Division 1 Old England Nomads keep themselves in top place with a 7-3 win over Mount C. Joe Perrin, Alan Atkinson and Lynne Herrington all won two games each to secure the win for Old England but player of the match went to Mount’s Alan Livingstone with three wins. Mount B keep up the pressure on Old England with a 7-3 win over NECA B that keeps Mount in second place with two games in hand over Old England. Lee Eadington was plyer of the match winning three games for Mount with Dave Cutler and Will McCallum both winning two games each. Cramlington Falcons had an 8-2 win over Prudhoe United Services B which keeps them keeps them in third place. Oliver Ho and Anth Doyle both won three games and Alan Roskilly won one with a victory over John Henderson. Ouston A lost a little bit of ground to the top three teams with a 5-5 draw against Stocksfield A. This was close game that could have gone either way. Ouston had taken a 3-2 lead only for Stocksfield to win the next three games to go into a 5-3 lead. Tom Fowle and Bernie Morris won the last two games beating Neil Forsyth and Alex Holliday respectively to secure the draw. In their second game of the week Mount C had a 7-3 win over Cramlington Tigers which saw Alan Livingstone secure his second player of the match in the week with three wins.
In Division 2 Brandon Bravehearts maintained to place in the division with a 9-1 win over Stocksfield B. Ian Richardson and Steve Pattinson both winning three games with Paul Dale winning two games. Tom Manuel beat Paul Dale in a close five end game to secure the solitary win for Stocksfield. Tyneside B keep themselves in second place with a 6-4 win Cramlington Spartans. Despite being on the losing side Leo Conn was player of the match winning his three games including a close game against the experienced Jim Robertson that went to five ends. Ouston B maintained third place after a 6-4 win over Mount D, Jeff McKenna and Duncan Hindmarsh both winning three games for Ouston. At the other end of the table Cramlington Reivers had a convincing 10-0 win over Ouston C that opens up a small gap to the bottom two teams. In their second game of the week Mount D had a 6-4 win over Cramlington Swifts with Mount’s Joseph Miller player of the match for his three wins.
In Division 3 Saints maintained top spot with a 10-0 walkover against Cramlington Magpies. Stocksfield C had a 10-0 win over Cramlington Dragons with Mark Perrin, Richard Rayfield and Stefan Sobell all winning their games. However, the game was closer than the scoreline suggested with the Dragons team pushing Stocksfield hard for their win. This result saw Stocksfield jump over Tyneside C into second place after Tyneside beat Cramlington Dragons in their second game of the week 6-4. Daniel Foster was player of the match with three wins for Tyneside, with Don Catley winning two games and the pair combining to win the doubles. The game between Cramlington Cobras and Cramlington Dynamos surprisingly took place as the Dynamos only had one player. The result was 9-1 to the Cobras but Jonathan Javita-Calle played well for the Dynamos beating Alan Hedley but losing both games to Roy Hugill and Steve Ralph in close games that went to five ends.
