Match Report

Titans V Dragons derby day yet again at LSG arena.
Titans with one Nolan sister (the elder) playing along with Pistol Pete & Ian Kenneth Wolstenholme. Dragons welcomed back Pugwash Smith from the long voyage sailing the seven seas, Galeforce and Adam the cabin boy made the three.
Pugwash looking like a Maori especially when he started the Haka, NO! Hold on he’s only picking the ball up, put the long travelling behind him beating Ian in four. This was followed by Galeforce shooting down Pistol in four by winning the important points, Pistol up 10 – 8 in all four.
Nolan was in the mood for dancing beating Adam in a close contest 3-1. Pugwash looking mean gunned down Pistol 3-0 and the scoreboard flashed 10 - 5 Dragons….shock….horror…the crowd gasped. Kenneth got things back on track squeezing through a tight game against Adam 3-1.
Nolan / Wolstenholme combo led 2 - 1 in the doubles but Galeforce / Pugwash cruising 10 – 4 in the fourth but somehow manage to lose it and the game 3 – 1. 12 – 11 to Dragons game on.
The loss of that set swung like Nolans pretty little dress as he changed back into his match wear. Wayne beat the lack lusty Garfin 3 - 0 and Pistol unloaded the Smith and Wesson on an unlucky Adam 3 – 0 to totally turn this match around. 12 – 17 Titans.
Pugwash restored hope playing brilliantly against Nolan 3 – 1 and with that taking the MoM.
Titan fans singing “Gotta pull myself together” thought it was in the bag but hold on Galeforce is moving around the table and takes the first and up 8 – 4 Wolstenholme thinks it’s all over but it is now …..Ian blasts his way back and takes it 3 – 1 final score of Titans 21 – Dragons 16.
Coleen Nolan was guest presenter for Leigh Hospital radio 2 who covered this thrilling derby. My sister played well but I thought Pugwash Smith had all the moves and looks like big sis Linda. He don’t make waves and pays attention to me, I think we could make sexy music with every little thing. Pugwash responded I’m never gonna let you break my heart again, God knows table tennis is my spirit, body and soul now but you can touch me in the morning. If it takes me all night I’m getting a pint out of Garfin.
Another great night at LSG well played everyone.
