Match Report

The Leigh/Wigan & District TT League is back….Dragons take on Skem Lathom, the first match in 545days.

The toss was delay while ushers got the bumper crowd to their seats once the crowd had settled the game commenced.

So off we go a balding Pugwash Smith takes on Ste Ashy. Smith looking fresh from sailing the seven seas quickly gets into his stride to out spin Ashy 3 nil Dragons.

New boy Too Hot Totty Scotty promoted to the Dragons team kick off against Skem star performer and screen legend Mark Tommy Shelby Maloney. The first leg swung to and fro as both players blew several game points until Too Hot kept his nerve and took a gripping leg 15 – 13 he went on to win the next two give Dragons a 6 nil lead.

Cappo Galeforce now adding more bandages to his legs won the next 3 against Dave Hobart know to his mates as Tazzy. At this point coach Big Bob Edwards noticed that his team where still wearing their virtual TT glasses, they’ve had no venue to train in so VTT was the only answer. Removal of glasses and eyes adjusted to the light game continued in the same vain with To Hot putting Ashy away 3 nil.

Tazzy then got the ball rolling with an entertaining game against Pugwash to earn Skem’s first point of the night Pugwash winning 3-1. At half way Dragons lead 15 – 1.

Dragons pair Not so little Adam & testing his knees out Owdmon took on Shelby & Ashy. The first going to the Dragons pair, both playing some fine passing shots. Now the VTT became Reality TT with the Lathom pair clicking and starting to play some nice shots they worked hard to gain a 3-1 win to get Skem’s first win of the new campaign.

Dragons continued to dominate in the second half all though Skem started to find their feet and play a lot better. Final score Dragons 28 Skem 7

The final note of the night before the bar comes from The Scamperer up in the heavens. Nice to see TT back at LSG and the Wigan League underway played in the same good spirit, talking of spirits get them in St P.

Always in our thoughts pal cheers.
