After playing so well last week I reverted to 'plonker' mode, in the words of Dell Boy. I managed to take a set of Ian M but that was as good as it got, lost all three games. I sat and watched Ian and Neil serve countless double faults and smash balls all over the hall against Brian and Ian but against me, not a one. Anyhow enough of me. Brian continued his excellent run with three good wins, although Neil tested him with his abundance of nets, edges and canny chops, taking Brian to 14-16 in the first set. Matt was on decent form and disposed of me and Ian in straight sets and took a set off Brian. Ian Barker, although losing to Matt, got the better of Ian M and Neil but the slow table doesn't suit any of us and Ian B and Brian lost the doubles in five sets to leave the match all square. Good night's tennis, good company and we look forward to the return.
