An evenly contested match, 2-2 after the first 4 and 3 all after the doubles with the home side getting the best of the luck. In the doubles Mike Charter was instrumental in the win and also went on to complete a good maximum in the latter stages of the match.

Martin Richards making his first appearance of the season blossomed as only he can, as the evening progressed, in his win over Keith Lindsay. Dimitar Pachev came in with two wins to help the home side record their first win of the season. Credit to all the Academy players for a result that could have gone the other way.
