With over half the matches played the Division One title race is hotting up with the Nomads holding a 7 point lead over their closest challengers YMCA Preachers, which makes next weeks re-arranged match between the sides very interesting.
The match between Cwmbran Colts and Blaenavon Aces was postponed.
The final match in Div. Two saw Cwmbran Fellows beat Blaenavon Bulldogs 17-12. For the Fellows Wayne Ford picked up 3 wins. For the Bulldogs Lincoln Alford and Callum Hunt won 2 matches each.
Three sides representing the Eastern Valley League recently returned from North Wales after competing in the first weekend of matches in the Veterans Team Championship of Wales. The 'A' and 'B' sides were competing in the Premier Division and the 'C' side were in Division One.

The second placed side YMCA Preachers went down 14-18 to Cwmbran Blues in a close match. Player of the match was Mark Farrow with his 3 wins ably assisted by David D Lloyd with his 2 wins. For the Preachers Ray Goulding won 2 matches.
Division Two continues to be dominated by the Cwmbran Panthers and their latest win came over Cwmbran Eccentrics 25-5. For the Eccentrics Peter Alderson battled to gain his sides only points but the Panthers proved too strong with maximum wins for Mike Blatchford and Yuri Cherkasenko.

The new team giving chase to the Panthers are Cwmbran Dynamos who also had a comfortable win 25 - 5 against Cwmbran Eccentrics. The Dynamos' Alex Jones and Star Limbu both recorded maximum wins for their side with only Alson Limbu providing any resistance.
