Rearranging of matches

Hi Guys.

Just a quick note about teams cancelling or trying to arrange a new fixture date.

Obviously it can be quite challenging getting a team together week in, week out but I'd say that 99% of teams this year have more than the bare minimum 3 players so should in theory be able to rotate players and not miss any games at all. Some teams I've even allowed up to 8 players (2 more than the rules say) just so it limits the possibility of any cancellations.

So far this season (and it quiet early in to the season) I've had 2 cancellations in division 1, a game in division 2 which is, as we speak trying to sort a new date to play and 2 games in division 3 that weren't played so the none offending team conceded.

The rules state that you MUST borrow from teams before even considering cancelling matches, even my team had to borrow players for the 2nd and 3rd game of this season so if I can do it, anyone can.

I am hearing far too often that teams have players on holiday or off sick or what ever.

You can always bring a game forward you know, rearranged games don't always have to be after the original fixture date

If for some unknown reason you have exhausted all angles mentioned above then please follow this simple rule which is mentioned in our constitution. Here is the snippet below.

h) Cancellation of matches is not permitted unless under exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Fixture Secretary. Any matches not played in accordance with the fixture list and not notified and agreed by the Fixture Secretary will be awarded to the none offending team. Clubs with more than one team should always call on players from a lower team, regardless of ability, to ensure the match is played on the due date if they cannot raise a team from their registered players. When considering ‘exceptional circumstances’ the Fixture Secretary will take into account players eligibility to play for a particular team. Any authorised rearranged matches from teams within the same club must play them no later than three weeks before the last scheduled week of the season. Any authorised rearranged matches must be played no later than the first available catch up week as specified in the fixture list. Failure to comply with any of the above will result in the Fixture Secretary being the sole arbiter in awarding any points and after taking into account any submissions received from the teams involved.

The first free week as I see it is January the 6th but do triple check your fixtures as your team may not enter a cup competition so you may be free earlier than this. Your team may be playing in a cup and have a league fixture the same week, it is expected that you play the 2 games that week.

Please do get in touch if needed with any questions but since I do have a full time job and other commitments I cannot be there to help out all of the time or i may be a little slower at responding than you expect.

Any issues with cup fixtures as we get nearer the date then approach Angela as this is her specialty.

Thanks Warren

Fixture Secretary
