Henley B finally overcame Blazing Paddles 8-2 after a closely fought match, where the result could easily have gone either way. Nello Mauri recorded both the Paddles’ successes but was made to work hard by Robert McCluskey before eventually winning over the full distance. Chris Dickens was unlucky not add to their haul after recovering from initial two set deficits against both Andy Rowland and Dave Milton, only to lose to each 11-8 in the decider. Rowland chalked up a treble for Henley B with McCluskey and Milton earning braces.

Paddles were on the end of a heavier defeat the following evening when they visited the high-flying JLM Falcons. The hosts maintained their recent run of good form with Luke Moffat, Kevin Taylor and Jack Davis sweeping all before them without conceding a single end during the match.

Colebridge Pasties were another team to impose the whitewash in their fixture against Veterans. Mike Evetts, Dean Hicks and Mike Credland all returned home with maximums although, in the only game to go to the wire, Credland twice had to overturn a disadvantage (and saving a match point for good measure - internet exclusive)  to defeat Brian Marston

John Price and Alison Stewart were untroubled for Snitterfield who defeated FISSC. Don McAdam earned their other two points but, in the sole five set contest, narrowly lost out to Mark Jones who thereby gained the farmers’ only consolation.

Riz Akbar delivered a perfect performance for Tanworth Taipans as they overcame Henley A 6-4. He supplemented his treble by partnering Denis Kynaston to success in the doubles, with Kynaston himself adding two singles. Peter Quince earned a brace for Henley A, while Geoff Shephard and Dave Hatcher also got on the card.
