Shottery A go into the mid season break top of the table after a 7-3 victory over Snitterfield. Gary Stewart and Tristan Gretton both notched trebles, before combining to claim the concluding doubles. John Price, Steve Cull and Clive Irwin each earned a point for Snitterfield.
On the adjacent table Shottery B were put to the sword by Stratford A who were represented by Debbie Barrow, Alex Boyd and Kannan Nithi, with captain Richard Grover making a cameo appearance in the doubles. Steve Smith came close to gaining some reward for Shottery but, despite gaining early leads, lost out to both Barrow and Nithi in the decisive fifth sets.
Shottery B were in action a second time when they shared the spoils at Ashorne, although that looked unlikely when they trailed 4-1 at the break. However a treble from Gareth Hepworth, and a further win from Tim Fell was enough to earn the draw after the pair also went on to claim the doubles. Len Coonan and Mark Bridgeman each gained two points for Ashorne, with Roger Pye adding their crucial fifth.
A perfect performance from Rod Lewis provided the backbone to Colebridge Pasties' 6-4 win at Henley. However, in the only contest to go the full distance, he had to put aside a two set deficit against Nigel Payne before clinching the final end 13-11. Chris Welsh and Mahroof Hussain earned the visitors' other scores, while Payne and Peter Quince both produced excellent displays to earn braces for Henley.
Colebridge Bulldogs also finished 6-4 winners when they entertained Tanworth Taipans. Chris Welsh, Andy Rowland and John Swinburne all went home with two successes, but none were able to overcome Taipans' Jason Rainey who was unlucky to finish on the losing team after producing a treble to which he added the doubles with David Hedgecox. However Rainey had to overturn early disadvantages before overcoming both Welsh and Rowland in the deciders.
Stratford C were strengthened by the presence of Richard Grover when they entertained Blazing Paddles who could only field two players. He made his mark by winning both games, while Rob Bartkowski added a further success before the pair also secured the doubles. However both players were made to work hard by Paddles' captain Nello Mauri who narrowly lost out to each over the full distance. Wilf Chan registered two of the visitors' points with Mauri acquiring their third.
JLM Kingfishers proved too strong for Stratford D as Piotr Penczkowski, Jim and Henry Clarke imposed a maximum.
