Bulldogs ran out winners 7-3 with all singles encounters unusually decided in 3 straight legs. Playing against his parent club, in a Colebridge shirt, Jake Crawshaw was the standout player. Bob Brown and Andy Rowland both had chances to win the first legs of their encounters, but once the youngster had secured them there was no stopping him with his impressive speed and hitting power to the fore.Tony Remes battled hard with little luck, but was however involved in the match of the night, and the only one to go the distance in combination with Crawshaw, in the doubles, but they were unable to overcome Rowland and Chris Welsh playing together for the first time. Shottery’s regular reserve ‘Forfeit’ frankly struggled with the conditions all night and injured captain Tim Fell was visibly not happy with his efforts.At least his games were concluded in double quick time enabling an early finish and retirement to more relaxed entertainment.
