Match Report

Colebridge Pasties won a thrilling match with fellow title contenders Stratford A 6-4, courtesy of a Nathaniel Saunders maximum in his first match of the season
The 14 year old beat Pete Barrow in the opening match of the contest in a clash that was a credit to the Stratford League. Rod Lewis also picked up two for Pasties, with Barrow winning his other two singles. condemning Lewis to only his 2nd defeat of the season and teaming up with Richard Grover for a fantastic doubles success over Saunders/Lewis. Grover got the better of Bernard Oliver for his only singles win , but was unfortunate to go down 13-11 in 4 sets to Saunders. The result ensures Stratford 'A' remain 2 points clear at the top.

Stratford 'A' captain Richard Grover was understandably delighted with the result

"to come out against Pasties containing Nathaniel Saunders and Rod Lewis with a 6-4 result was a fantastic achievement especially after being 4-0 and 6-1 behind.
