Although no fixtures were scheduled over the Christmas period it provided the opportunity to reschedule a couple of outstanding matches.

Snitterfield boosted their title hopes with a 9-1 win at fourth placed Henley B. Clive Irwin and Alan Cotton each produced commanding singles performances, and combined to give themselves a perfect evening with victory in the doubles. John Price added their other two successes, after being involved in both contests to go the full distance with contrasting fortunes. In the first game of the evening he twice overturned a deficit to defeat the hosts’ captain Robert McCluskey. However Price was unlucky to lose out to Stuart Latham-Marr, despite conceding just a single point in the first set and acquiring two more than his opponent over the course of their encounter.

It was a much closer contest when Tanworth Taipans entertained FISSC with the opening three games all being settled in the decider. Tim Lawrence drew first blood for the hosts by putting aside a two set disadvantage to narrowly defeat Malcolm Smith. Mark Jones then restored parity for the farmers with a close win over Dennis Kynaston. Mick Welsh began in good form taking a two set lead over Peter Florence, only for his opponent to force a decider, but then regained the Taipans advantage by claiming the fifth. Welsh proved the difference between the two teams by chalking up a treble, as well as acquiring the doubles with Kynaston who also notched Taipans' crucial sixth win. Jones and Florence each went home with braces for the farmers which was enough to ensure their team moved off bottom place in the league standings.
