Congratulations to all ASV youngsters taking part in the Senior Schools International 2023, at Kingfisher Club, University of Galway, Ireland. Full results for all the Scottish youngsters have been posted on TTS social media over the weekend…some great results happened! Table tennis Scotland round up of the Aberdeen kids below.
Daniel Tibbets teamed up with Nathan Hogg in the U16s team event, finishing 3rd medal after beating Scotland B team in the bronze medal match.
In the singles, Daniel came 2nd in his group. He had a fantastic win over the English number 4 seed Joseph Cooper in the last 16. After putting up a great fight in the QF against the number 1 seed Krish Chotai, Daniel lost 1-3.
Allan He and his partner Tony Chim lost out in the bronze medal match to Scotland A 3-0. In the singles event , Allan came 3rd in his group, which meant he went on to play in the plate event, he had a cracking final win against his Scotland team mate Tony Chim 3-0 to clinch the plate event title.
Jakub Krzyzostaniak finished 7th in the U14s team event with his partner William Wang. In his singles event, Jakub had a very tough group. As he didn’t qualify from his group he went into the plate event - after playing a very entertaining final, where he was 0-2 down he managed to put up a great fight to win 3-2.
Maja Wojcicka and her partner Nichole Lee, playing in the U14 girls team event got the bronze medal.
Maja in her singles, came second in her group which meant she met her team mate Nichole Lee in the QF, after a very close entertaining match Maja, lost 9-11 in the 5th end.
Kiishi Adekola playing in the U16 girls team event with her partner Megan Mulhern finished 5th. Kiishi in the singles event played in the U14s, she came runner up in the plate event.
