Round-up by Neil Paterson

This week, earlier than normal due to unprecedented venue restrictions, the KO Cup had its round of 32 involving almost every team. A preliminary tie took place between AU Ospreys and Westhill Foxes with AU winning 8-1, a closer match than the score would suggest.

This round threw up a Triangle V Westhill triple header, with Triangle winning all 3. Triangle Veterans V Westhill Demons proving to be a close affair, Catherine Inverarity defeated Andrew Heaney in the final game. Triangle Twowrists proved too strong for Westhill Alpha with Peter Katona having a player of the match performance. Triangle Athletic defeated Westhill Caesars 5-0 but the match was decided by only a couple of points with two 41-40 wins for Triangle Athletic.

AU Eagles defeated Westhill Evergreens to leave Westhill having a rather tough week but George Bews won his 3. AU Falcons defeated Triangle Swifts to continue the good evening for AU. A very strong performance from ASV Academy again to knock out CTM Zagros.

Westburn Surfers proved their quality with a 5-0 victory over an unfortunate Triangle Terrors. Shell Gannets and West Park NorDan provided another 5-4 cracker with West Park sneaking it in the end with Mike Moodie winning his 3.

Paul Barlow put in a perfect performance to help Westhill Bees get through a tight encounter with West Park Evergreens winning 5-4, to keep Westhill in the competition. Stonehaven Fireballs 1 and 3 made it through against Triangle Quattros and Inverurie Harlaw but Stonehaven Fireballs 2 were defeated 5-2 by CTM Atlas.

CTM Dauntless had a narrow defeat to Turriff A with Don Gordon pushing Turriff A over the line. AU Ospreys again showed that they will be tough to knock out, defeating Inverurie Garioch 8-1. Finally, Turriff B defeated 2-man Shell Penguins 8-1 to book a place in the last 16. Alford Bulls V Westburn CSI was postponed.
