KO Cup and League Cup Draws

KO Cup and League Cup Updates

This week saw the Prelim ties take place over both the KO Cup and League Cup. In the KO Cup, 3 ties were played, with one absolutely outstanding match taking place at Westhill on Monday night. Firstly though well done to Turriff A and Stonehaven Fireballs 1 for winning there ties against Triangle Swifts and Triangle Veterans respectively. Both these matches were more close than the score line suggested. Westhill Demons rushed into a 4-2 lead against CTM Dauntless, I think even CTM would have not held much hope at this point but remarkably they managed to win 5-4 in the end with the final 3 game scores reading 39-41,40-41 and 40-41. The match was decided in the last point. Huge credit to both teams, further evidence to proof that Ratings work well and it can lead to very exciting handicap matches. The Round of 32 takes place on week commencing 16th December. New handicaps will be issued around a week before.

In the League Cup, 1 tie was scheduled in Division 3 which sadly Stonehaven Fireballs 3 have chosen to concede due to lack of players so Inverurie Garioch will proceed to the Quarter Finals. In Division 4 a mix up between Triangle Quattros and Shell Gannets led to the postponement of this fixture. In the only played tie under the new format, West Park Evergreens won 6-1 at CTM Keen. The Quarter FInals for these ties dont take place until week commencing 27th January. Division 1 and Division 2 Group stage matches can be arranged for any time, just make sure to tell me before the match is played and ensure you are using the most up to date Rating list.

All information on the draws above are in the ADTTA CUPS section. I would like to take this opportunity now to thank everyone for there support this year, currently with matches being brought forward, only 10 matches are outstanding. It is hoped by myself to increase the number of matches in the future, the main worry was always if it could be done. This is good evidence to hopefully try this for next season.
