After the summer break the West Somerset Table Tennis League has started. As with previous years there is the usual slow start with few matches played.
Division 1– Congratulations go to Wiveliscombe who retained their title for the seventh consecutive year. Second place belongs to Basement Dwellers. Both teams were a considerable distance ahead of their nearest rivals.
Final score: Gnomads 269 – Basement Dwellers 339.
Division 2 – It was the final week for all matches in division 2 and it was certainly a nail-biting end to the season....
The final of the under 13’s will be a family affair between twins Alfie and Nathaniel Southam.
Division 1– There are no matches to report this week.

The quarter final matches have been completed this week....
Gnomads had a convincing win over House Martyns with all players ending the match with gains: Nigel Foster 27, Martin Rant 21 and Eddie Ferris 15 to give Gnomads a win by 63 points.
It was a fairly quiet week for the league as some teams played their quarter final Cup matches. Full Cup news next week....

This week was the second round of the handicap knockout cup competition.
It was a busy week for the West Somerset table tennis league as six matches were played.
The table tennis league was in full action this week as the second half of the season started in earnest.
This week saw the start of the handicap knockout cup competition although only three matches were played due mainly to the persistence of the seasonal [Australian] flu bug.
