White Horse never got into their stride but Ian Rew scored 3 and Andy Godfrey 2 in the singles. They teamed up in the doubles to glean one final point to give White Horse a final score of 6 for the evening.
White Horse never quite got into their stride but David Bryand did start finding his form, and top-scored with 5 singles points. Ian Rew added 4 and Andy Godfrey the final 3. With only 1 doubles point, White Horse passed the finishing post with a total of 13.
Roy’s Boys put up a spirited fight with Roy Hooper the team’s star performer with his 4 singles points. Barry Hooper then added the final 3 singles points. With a further 3 points from the doubles, Roy’s Boys ended the evening with 10 points
Roy’s Boys’ three players, Roy, Barry and Peggy Hooper, put up a spirited performance but the only success for the team came with the 4 singles points from Barry.
Wiveliscombe were on excellent form and each player – Paul Nutkins, Ben Cooper and David Woodland - scored a maximum with David being awarded player of the match. With a maximum in the doubles it was a Grand Slam 36 points for Wiveliscombe to put them joint top of the league table.
The 2022/23 West Somerset Table Tennis Winter League got underway this week.
With no scores carried forward from the first half, it will be a straight shoot-out to establish the winners of each division.
