Dear club captains, team captains, players, parents and other table tennis enthusiasts!
I would like to let you know of an opportunity for a series of table tennis coaching that is being offered to the junior table tennis players within Avon.
Myself and Michele Reeves, both UKCC Level 3 coaches will be running a series of six 90 minute coaching sessions between June and December this year.
The rationale behind this opportunity is to offer a bespoke set of sessions to develop the junior players within Avon, regardless of club or league they are playing in. The sessions will be aimed at players who have already represented Avon, or who have the potential to do so in the future.
I have attached a poster advertising the sessions with all details, but a summary is detailed below.
1. Six 90 minute coaching sessions will run between June and December (no session in August)
2. All sessions will take place at Failand Table Tennis Club
3. There will be a choice of two times on each of the sessions - 9.00am-10.30am OR 11.00am-12.30pm
4. Each session will be limited to 8 players
5. Two Level 3 coaches in attendance - both are TTE licensed coaches with up to date DBS, safeguarding training and are first aid trained
The cost of the six sessions is £50. We are very fortunate to have received a subsidy from Avon County Table Tennis Association who are supporting this initiative.
In the first instance we are asking for an expression of interest from parents/players who would like to be involved in this programme. If we have more players wanting to take part than we have places, we will offer a place following discussions with their team/club captains and the current junior county organiser.
I would ask that all expressions of interest are made by Sunday 5th May.
