Dalton Cricket Club A, with a clinical 8-2 victory over fellow title contenders Burton A, have opened up a gap at the top of Division 1 of the Kendal & District Table Tennis League.
The top of Division 2 of the Kendal & District Table Tennis League is turning into a dogfight.
Burton A, following a devastating 10-0 destruction of Natland C, have joined the battle at the top of Division 1 of the Kendal & District Table Tennis League.
Natland A, with 29 points from 4 matches, are currently top of Division 1 of the Kendal Table Tennis League.
Dalton A returned to the top of Division 1 of the Kendal & District Table Tennis League, with a crushing 9-1 demolition of their own B team

Division 2 looks like being a very tight contest this season with a lot of closely matched teams. Dallam A are currently leading the way with 22 points from their first 3 matches.

Dent and Grayrigg are tied at the top of Division 3, with 43 points each, closely followed by Dallam C on 38.

Burton take an early lead
In the only fixture in Division 3, Grayrigg edged out Dent by 19 points to 18. A hat-trick of wins by Steve Hawley could not prevent Dent from going down by the narrowest of margins.

TO ALL KENDAL AND DISTRICT BASED TABLE TENNIS CLUBS:
These leagues are played for a full day over four Saturdays or Sundays (likely to be Sundays) distributed through the year between November and March.
Each team consists of three players.

In the division 2 singles Craig James (Natland) recovered from 2 sets down against Bernard Pickthall (Natland) to win 8-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-6, 14-12.

The Divisionals were held at Dallam on Sunday Jan 10th.
Division 1 winners were Crook A (rotating from Phil Swift, Mike Taylor, and John Howarth) who beat Burton B in the final. Howarth and Taylor played Fran Currie and James Burton winning by 19 points.
