Roy’s Boys put up a hard fight and Barry Hooper played some spectacular sets for an excellent 8 points. Both Roy Hooper and Charlie Bond then added 3 singles sets apiece. With 3 doubles sets, Roy’s Boys ended the match with 16 points.
Drifters gave a good account of themselves with Dave Smith top-scoring with 6 singles sets. Liz Fletcher added a further 4, and Andrew Miles the remaining 3. With 3 doubles sets, Drifters returned home over the moors together with 16 points.
Wanderers continue to develop, and Matt Lawrence picked up the player of the match award for his singles maximum. Solid support was received from Laurie Chalk with 6 sets and Cass Chalk with 5. A doubles maximum concluded a comfortable victory as Wanderers ended the evening with 29 points.

Eagles maiden flight was a steady affair and they never got into a flap with David Veale, Tim Bosley, and Jack Smith winning 3 singles sets apiece. Danny O’Leary was the doubles specialist for the evening and added one set to give Eagles a final tally of 10 points.
The second phase of the West Somerset Table Tennis League got underway this week. Two divisions have been formed, based on the team positions in the first half of the season. There was a tentative start for many players who have yet to find their form due to the gap in match play.
