As you may know the celluloid table tennis balls that we have been playing with for many years are being phased out and replaced by plastic table tennis balls. The new, plastic balls will become mandatory from the start of the 2015/16 season, however for the upcoming 2014/15 season Table Tennis England (the ETTA as was) has given local Leagues the option of which ball to use.

This decision was taken partly because of the problems affecting the supply of the new plastic balls and partly to ensure consistency between Clubs in local tournaments and for the full 2014/15 season.
The RDTTA General Secretary will be writing to all Club Secretaries with further details.
