The RDTTA committee have been actively considering various options for concluding the 2019-20 season. It is our current majority view that we would like to complete the season if at all possible and we are working towards being able to play the remaining matches, possibly in September.
This will depend upon Government / Table Tennis England advice over the coming months and may involve some changes to the playing format which we will advise you on at that time.
The committee are also aware that our clubs play at various types of premises (e.g. village/church halls, schools etc.) where it cannot yet be certain when access may be given to commence play again. We would be grateful if Club Secretaries could continue to advise the RDTTA secretary, Nigel Maltby, of any timescales they become aware of for being able to open up their club venues for matches and also any challenges they may foresee in attempting to resume play e.g. player availability and venue safety.
As well as concluding the 2019/20 season the RDTTA committee are also considering likely options for 2020/21 and we will keep you updated over the coming months.
Nigel Maltby, RDTTA Secretary
