RIP Wally Allanson
We are sad to report the passing of Wally Allanson. He was such a gentleman and a high-class defensive player. Having been brought up on Merseyside he moved to the Shillingford area around 1980 and found home at the Sonning Common and Peppard club. He was the driving force in winning the League title in 87-88 and 91-92 as well as winning the veteran's singles in 1988. He was ranked in the top 100 men in England well into his 50's. He chose to stop playing table tennis about 2005 when his condition started to seriously affect his reactions. We send condolences to his friends and family. The funeral service will be at St Laurence Church, Warborough on Friday March 21 at 2.30pm. There will be a get together after to reminisce as well in the Greet Hall Warborough.
