As we reach the Christmas break it’s as you were at the top of the first division, NA Batmen with a two point lead over NA Buzzards............

We have reached the halfway stage of the season although several teams have had to postpone fixtures this week.............

NA Batmen still lead the first division following their 6-3 victory over Brixham Sharks, Adam Shipway making his first appearance of the season was unbeaten for the Sharks............

There was a second defeat for the current champions and leaders of the First Division, NA Batmen, as they lost out 6-3 to Torbay Academy 1..........

There were comfortable wins for the top two teams in the first division this week............

There were whitewash victories for the top two Newton Abbot teams in the First Division...........

NA Batmen bounced back from their surprise defeat last week with a convincing 8-1 victory over Halwell B, Shaun Gibbs and Mark Burridge were unbeaten for the Newton Abbot side, Dave Wadling collected Halwell’s point..........

To allow for rearrangements due to Covid, several free weeks were built into the fixture list. So just 3 matches were slotted into this free week which should mean virtually all teams will now have played their first two fixtures.......

NA Batmen suffered a surprise setback in their attempt to retain the first division title as they went down 8-1 to club mates the Buzzards...........

There were strong starts from the top sides in the first division as the League season got underway.........

It is with great sadness that we learnt today that Don Blatchford had passed away on Saturday 25th Sept at the age of 97……..

The South Devon & Torbay Table Tennis League held its Annual General Meeting to conclude the 2019-20 season which was curtailed by the pandemic, with the meeting 16 months late, at Barton Cricket Club on 14thSeptember 2021.……..

The pandemic has led to problems with the venue at Brixham which had prevented an early return to the table.
The club has managed to pull together 3 teams but as they have space they would like to run a 4th team. So if anyone is interested in playing for Brixham in the forthcoming season, commencing in October, please contact Alan Maynard 07909 853047

Torre Table Tennis Club are hoping to enter 3 teams in the South Devon & Torbay League for the coming season but could do with 1 or 2 more players prepared for league table tennis.
